Dates are the fruits of palm trees and they come from Iran. They are sweet, they offer a lot of energy and they are usually consumed dried. Dates can be eaten alone, as they are very delicious, or they can be consumed as a snack with yoghurt, cereals and nuts. They consist of sugars, fibers, water, proteins, fats, metals and pectin. They contain iron, potassium, small quantities of calcium, chlorine, magnesium, sulfur and phosphorous.
